Nightingale's Muncie Open House, held on Thursday, November 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., was well-attended with over seventy guests in attendance. The Cornerstone Center for the Arts, located at 520 East Main Street in Muncie, provided an elegant venue for the event.
Guests entering the Colonnade Room were reminded of Fitzgerald's Gatsby with its 1920s design and twinkling lights. Tables were set with alternating red and black tablecloths, mirroring Nightingale's logo colors. As Muncie residents entered the room, they were greeted by friendly Nightingale staff members who directed them to the complimentary lunch buffet catered by Johnny Carino's restaurant. The delicious pasta buffet included penne pasta with a choice of Alfredo, marinara or meat sauce, mixed salad, and assorted breads with oil for dipping.
During lunch, Nightingale marketers Dan Hollis, Brian Taylor, Stephanie Griffin, Danielle Crisp, Jim Spinelli, Crist Blassaras and Sherri Williams sat down at tables and mingled with the guests to talk with them about their individual needs for services. While some of those in attendance were interested in learning about home healthcare and Nightingale's services in anticipation of future care for themselves, many were interested in learning what we could provide for an aging parent, loved one or neighbor.
Most everyone took advantage of the free health screening, which included a blood pressure check, oxygen saturation and heart rate. Guests who received a health screening also received a free blood pressure card for recording their vital sign information so that they may keep a continuous recording of their vital sign trends.
Steve Brown and Jason Priest from WERK Oldies provided a live radio remote and encouraged many guests to drop in after having heard the local radio broadcast. On-the-spot job interviews were conducted by Melinda Jewell of Nightingale's Human Resources department, and she was happy to report that several potential recruits were discovered. Finally, Jim Garton of At Home Health Equipment displayed samples of the latest durable medical equipment, including walkers, canes and wheel-chairs and answered questions.
Nightingale wishes to thank the citizens of Muncie for their interest in our services and support of the event. Our staff is very much looking forward to expanding our service to the greater Muncie area.
