If you have the choice to plan the time of your grocery shopping, follow this simple rule... Only shop on a full stomach
It’s a fact that when you go to the store hungry, you get distracted by the food items on the aisle shelves even if they are not on your shopping list and you end up buying more than you planned. If you go to the store full, you buy less and are able to stick to your shopping list much better. I have experienced it first hand and can attest to the validity of this tip.
And, speaking of shopping planning, don't buy for more than 3-7 days at a time. It will not only help you eat better, but will make you think more closely about what you buy and how much you buy. This way, you can not only buy fresh seasonal produce which is cheaper and healthier for you, you also have a smaller chance of buying too much and not using it up.
Hope this helps. I will be back next week with more money saving tips. Until next time!
